Retail: A Love Story

Hello all, This is a story that's actually pretty close to my heart for a couple of reasons. The first is because this is in actuality, a spinoff of a sitcom pilot that my co-creator and I wrote a few years ago. That script didn't get much attention, yet there are two shows on network TV right now that if you put together, pretty much was our show. Now I'm in no way saying they stole these shows from us, but seeing something so close to your vision make it without you pretty much sucks (something I'm sure many of you can relate to). It's one of the reasons this show is so important to both of us to push. The second reason is because this is very much a hyper-realized account of my life behind the counter, in the break room, at happy hour, etc. Obviously what happens here is over the top, but the characters are always grounded in reality, which is what gives the show it's heart. So please, enjoy the script, hope you get as many laughs from reading it as I got from writing it. Luis A. Bell
